Description
This Specialized Recreation Class is designed for those who are developmentally between ages 5-9 and who are neurodivergent and/or on the autism spectrum. Explore the world of dance and movement with our partners at South Sound Dance Access and Sensory Tool House LLC. Together, they will use developmental science to provide a nurturing space for creative dance, fostering motor skills, mind-body connection, and self-expression. Learn various dance styles and concept-based dance games while learning about time, space, place, direction, levels, and more, all supported by sensory tools and props.Learn a variety dance styles using concept-based dance games that teach about time, space, place, direction, levels, and more, all supported by sensory tools and props. Unleash your child’s creativity in a supportive environment - they’ll even get to choreograph their own dances! Your punch card will allow you to attend any six of the eight classes.
This class is for those who are developmentally between ages of 5 & 9 years of age. Each family will be given a punch card for 6 classes at the beginning of the session. Please send your dancer in comfy clothes they can easily move in. Kids can dance in socks or bare feet. Please bring headphones for your child if they benefit from wearing them, we will have a few spare pairs as well! Class will be held at the Jacob Smith House, 4500 Intelco Loop S, Lacey.
