Description
Discover the captivating art of suminagashi and create one-of-a-kind marbled paper. Using traditional Japanese techniques and modern color palettes, you’ll learn how to create mesmerizing patterns and designs. The resulting paper can be used as a beautiful background for a collage or a stand-alone art piece. Supply list will print on registration receipt. Instructor: Ellen Miffitt
Supply list Kit Bag: Gather your various craft supplies…Scissors: one for detail – one for rougher cuts Glue: Paper glue & glue for objects- Yes Paste, white glue, hot glue gun, Duco cement, mod podge, glue stick – bring whatever glue you like best Note: Instructor brings, scissors, glue, rulers, exacto knife, circle cutter, self-healing mat, Optional materials: Paintbrushes for various media, various media (acrylic, ink, watercolor, watercolor pencils, gelly roll pens, micron pens, markers, crayons, stamps & stamp pads, stencils, wire, brads, stapler etc Note: the instructor will share many of the above materials. Bring in if you own and have certain colors that are your favorites. Collage Papers: Old watercolors, hand-stained paper, junk mail… Just about any type of paper Optional Embellishments The following are suggestions for different types of collectables: Sewing supplies: ribbon, thread, buttons, yarn Jewelry/beads: charms, beads, wire, elastic etc Found objects keys, watch parts, shells, leaves etc Words/Pictures: from magazines, handwritten letters/poems, old photos, maps, plane tickets…
