Our skill-based, hands-on, earn-and-learn program bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. The academy provides an immersive, interactive environment where students are encouraged and expected to actively engage in every aspect of the experience. Just like in a real apprenticeship, participants will take part in hands-on activities aligned with authentic workplace scenarios, gaining practical skills and insight into careers in the trades. Beyond mastering essential trade skills, participants will engage in: • Industry Credential Opportunities • Financial Literacy Seminars • Employability Skill Development • Apprenticeship Seminar • Business Immersion Trips to local companies To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria: High school sophomore, junior or senior status in the Fall 2026 Be at least 15 years old Priority given to residents residing within the COP District Must have reliable transportation Clothing requirements for safety: ** Participants are required to wear jeans that can be worn over boots (with no rips or frays, shirts must have sleeves and leather steel-toed work boots. Note: We want all interested students to be able to participate. If obtaining required safety gear, including steel-toed boots, is a concern, support may be available. Please reach out to us—we’re happy to help. All participants must attend a mandatory orientation on May 28th at 6:30pm at the Industrial Arts Institute in Onaway.
