Are you ready to turn your passion into a promising career? Look no further than the Building and Construction Trades Union Summer Academy! This intensive 6-week program, running from June 23rd to July 31st, 2025, offers high school students ages 15+ a unique opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of skilled trades while earning a competitive wage. Program Overview Our skill-based, hands-on, earn-and-learn program bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. The academy guarantees an immersive and interactive environment, fostering active participation from students who are both encouraged and expected to engage fully in all activities. Just like in a real apprenticeship, tradespeople will engage in hands-on activities directly linked to authentic workplace scenarios, guided by professionals from our trade unions. What You'll Gain: Beyond mastering essential trade skills, participants will engage in: • Industry Credential Opportunities • Financial Literacy Seminars • Employability Skill Development • Apprenticeship Seminar • Three Friday Business Immersion Trips to local companies Schedule: Class Meets Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Fridays: Business Immersion Trips Safety Clothing Requirements: For safety, cotton shirts, jeans or cargo or jean shorts and steel or composite toe work boots are required.
