Participants will explore carpentry fundamentals, tool safety, measuring, cutting, assembly, and construction techniques through engaging hands-on projects. Campers will discover the planning, precision, and teamwork that go into creating structures from the ground up. Educator Career Connection This externship offers educators firsthand understanding of construction trades, workplace safety expectations, blueprint-based thinking, measurement skills, and the employability habits needed in the building industry—providing rich connections to math, design, and career awareness. No prior construction experience is required—only a willingness to participate, learn, and explore real-world applications. Educator Externship Registration Guidelines To ensure equitable access across the region, educators are asked to limit initial registration to two externship opportunities during the first two weeks of enrollment. Remaining openings will then be available for additional registrations.
