A little taste of Overnight Camp. A big summer adventure!
Mini Camp at YMCA Camp Nissokone is a shorter Overnight Camp experience designed to help younger or first-time campers discover the fun of camp at a comfortable pace.
Campers become part of a cabin group, make new friends, explore the outdoors, and experience a variety of classic Camp Nissokone activities. Our caring YMCA counselors provide plenty of encouragement and support as campers practice independence and discover just how much fun being away at camp can be.
It's a great first step for campers who are curious about Overnight Camp but may not be ready for a full week.
Registration Details
- Deposit: $100 per camper, per session — non-refundable
- Sibling Discount: Save 5% on each additional child
- Multi-Activity Discount: Save 5% on each additional activity
Plans change—we understand! Cancellation requests should be emailed to camp@ymcadetroit.org. Your $100 deposit is non-refundable. For cancellations made April 1, 2027 or later, an additional $50 cancellation fee per camper, per session applies. Fees are refundable only in the case of illness or injury with a written note from a physician to YMCA Camping Services. In the case of homesickness, dismissal, voluntary withdrawal, late arrivals, or early departures, there will be no refund of fees. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the start of your session are not eligible for a refund or credit.More details:

Mini camp is a Sunday - Wednesday program designed for ages 7-9 as an introduction to overnight camp. Campers are picked up Wednesday at 4pm unless the family is notified their camper wants to stay. If that is the case, families will pay the remaining cost of overnight camp (minus what they've paid for mini camp).
