Description
This class meets TUESDAYS from 12:45-1:45 at the Wright Opera House.
In this 60-minute class students will be practicing either ballet and jazz dance moves in a fun classroom setting.Class time will focus on technique in either style. During the ballet weeks, students will use the barre, practice allegro and adagio steps, basic dance movements such as polonaise, waltzes, the ballet polka, and develop a French ballet vocabulary. Students will practice maintaining correct posture and turnout throughout the entire class. Class emphasis is on the enjoyment of dance within the respect and discipline of classical ballet training. During the jazz weeks, students will practice elements of the Luigi jazz class. Our focus will be movements such as turns, leaps, jumps, and kicks, as well as dance steps such as box steps, pas de bourses, and pirouettes. We will also practice putting steps together creating fun choreography and progressions consisting of traveling steps across the floor.
