Enjoy a guided hike at Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area in Owings Mills, MD. Explore this unique serpentine ecosystem. Discover the history of the area and keep your eyes peeled for flora and fauna. Meet at the Soldiers Delight Visitor Center Parking lot by 9:30am. Directions and details provided in the program letter, sent by email about a week prior to the program.Moderate terrain; 5 miles.

The HCRP Trail Hike program features many historic sights and panoramic views. This trip is separate from the Appalachian Trail and Catoctin Trail Series; ask your hike leader for information about those series and the completion patches.
Trip leaders interpret points of interest and keep a moderate pace. Participants should be in good shape, have good balance and depth perception to be able to hike two miles over rocky hills without a break and the ability to complete the distance indicated.
NO Transportation is provided for this hike. Meet on site for this circuit hike. Under 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian who is also registered for the Trail Hike.
Detailed information is emailed to participants in the week prior to the hike date. Closed-toed shoes required for all participants at all times. All participants should check the program status line after 8:30am the day of the Trail Hike, regardless of current conditions (410-313-4451, press option 1 THEN option 3). Actual hike time may vary depending on the speed of the group.
If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a Trail Hike you are registered for, please notify us (email preferred) as soon as possible prior to the hike date. All participants must be pre-registered and on the roster for the hike. While it is possible to switch registrations prior to the hike date, we cannot accept switches or Wait Listed participants on the morning of the trip.
