About This Activity
The Squirt Development camp is designed to emphasize the individual hockey skills and primary team concepts in an enthusiastic, fun, structured, and safe atmosphere. The drills and ice sessions are developed by our experienced coaching staff keeping in mind the age and experience level of all participants. Participants are divided into teams and compete against a new team each day. Every team is supervised by two team coaches in addition to two on-ice coaches. At the end of the week each camper gets a take home packet with a detailed skating evaluation designed to educate each camper on areas to improve. We pride ourselves on providing a total camp experience not just focusing on hockey. Each team has 4 on-ice sessions and 2 hour off-ice activities daily. On-ice activities include skating development, skills session, team concepts, and a nightly scrimmage to practice the skills learned throughout the day. Our off-ice activities include pool time, team building activities, and cross training with different sports. Apart from hockey, this camp provides a valuable life experience, as this is many of the players’ first time away from home.
