Camp Cruising offers an adventure-based exploration for intermediate riders, focusing not only on enhancing on- and off-road technical abilities, but also on emphasizing the safety, confidence, and enjoyment of cycling. Campers participate in dynamic rides around Palo Alto and beyond, experiencing a broad range of riding surfaces, from city streets and multi-use paths to off-road trails, which may involve safely "taking the lane" on shared streets. Coaches guide riders through essential skills like scanning and signaling, proper lane positioning, pedestrian interaction, efficient climbing and descending, gearing selection, trail techniques, obstacle avoidance, basic jumps/drops, bike maintenance, and group riding etiquette, all within a flexible daily schedule determined by the coaches based on group interests and ability levels. Camp Cruising Club is a full-day camp: 8:30AM - 4:00 PM This camp is open to riders Level 4+, Ages 6-12. Bike Requirement: Properly fitting two-wheel pedal bike with front and rear hand brakes required & gears recommended.
