About This Activity
Students in grades 9–12 may volunteer as part of our Summer Volunteer Program, supporting elementary students at Silver Spur and Cornerstone Elementary Schools, as well as intermediate students at Miraleste and Palos Verdes Intermediate Schools in Chef classes. Volunteers assist in classrooms, help supervise recess and lunch, and gain hands-on experience working with younger students while building leadership and communication skills. The program fee covers two volunteer t-shirts, training, a name badge, and service hour tracking, with a certificate provided upon completion. Availability Volunteers must commit to at least one full week, with the option to select additional weeks. Weekly shifts at Cornerstone and Silver Spur include: Morning: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Afternoon: 11:00 AM–3:00 PM Full Day: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM Shifts at Miraleste include: 8:00 AM–11:00 AM 11:15 AM–2:15 PM Shifts at PVIS are: 8:00 AM–11:00 AM By selecting a week, you are confirming that you are available for the entire week. If selected for the program, your schedule will be based on the weeks and shifts you choose. Please review your availability carefully before submitting your application.
