Description
Catalog Description: An excellent elite coaching staff has been assembled to put on one of the best camps in the state. What’s different about this academy from other basketball camps? Campers will participate daily with Derrick in the new, Chalk Talk with DWhite. The Celtics have provided game videos to further enhance this Chalk Talk experience, as participants get into the mind of this starting point guard for the Spurs who has the task of guarding the opposing team’s best player, some nights. Learn some of the best secrets in the NBA that could enhance your game. This Academy will be filled with excitement; there will be tons of giveaways for our campersLevel of Instruction: Varies
Skills/Fundamentals Learned: Coaches will develop these players' ability to play in a team structure while having fun with individual and team games. The academy consists of fundamentals that focus on • dribbling • passing• defense • speed• agility • shooting
Instructor: Derrick White, Former CU Basketball Standout and current NBA Player announces his association with a local youth basketball development program. Derrick White is a homegrown talent (Legend High School), an All-American at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, a first-team all PAC 12 player at CU - Boulder, and now a budding star in the NBA for the Boston Celtics. He wants Colorado to become a hotbed for top college basketball talent and has developed a series of camps with NBN to aid in developing youth basketball talent. Nothing But Net (NBN). NBN is run by Marcus Mason, former NCAA Division 1 basketball player and coach. NBN is dedicated to developing Colorado youth basketball players by focusing on developing fundamental skills through camps and team play.
