About This Activity

Description

The iCan Bike camp is designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle in a supportive, inclusive environment. Through personalized instruction and the use of adaptive equipment, participants will receive the guidance and encouragement to successfully ride a bike through building confidence, enhancing coordination, and developing new skills. A dedicated team of experienced instructors will work closely with each rider to ensure they progress at their own pace with an emphasis on patience, safety, and fun. By the end of the program, participants will not only learn how to ride a bike but also experience the sense of independence and accomplishment that comes with mastering this lifelong skill.

Level of Instruction: Beginner, ages 8 and older.

  • An adapted bicycle, specialized instructional program, and trained staff

  • Approximately 80% of campers learn to ride a conventional, two wheeled bike independently by the end of the week
Program Benefits
  • Learn new skills or improve upon existing skills
  • Improve gross motor skills
  • Participant interaction and encouragement
  • Achieve fitness, health, and wellness goals
  • Increase individual self-confidence
Instructor: iCan Bike Staff, along with Therapeutic Recreation staff.
  • Registration Instructions: Sign up for one timeslot, that will be the same timeslot you will attend each day.
