Our Level 2 weekly dance class offers dancers the opportunity to study both ballet and jazz in a single, dynamic setting. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of proper technique, alignment, and posture while building strength, flexibility, and endurance. Through a combination of ballet and jazz, dancers will develop essential skills such as coordination, musicality, and rhythm. Beyond technical growth, dance class provides valuable opportunities for personal development, helping students build self-awareness, self-management, and confidence—skills that extend far beyond the studio and into everyday life. This class is the perfect foundation for young dancers looking to grow both as athletes and artists. A $80 costume rental fee ($40 for each costume) is required to participate in the end of semester performance and is paid to The Dance Connection the first week of class. Dancers will receive one ballet costume and one jazz/contemporary costume. Rented costumes must be returned after the performance to avoid additional fees. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Level 2 classes, Preteen Lyrical and Preteen Hip Hop.Level of Instruction: Intermediate to Advanced
Skills Learned: Ballet and contemporary
Equipment Needed: Black dance leotard and pink ballet tights with ballet slippers and jazz pants or shorts with dance top and jazz shoes/“Foot Undeez.” Hair should be pulled away from the face.
