Explore comics and manga to create your own comics through storytelling and art techniques. Get creative and dream up your own superheroes, villains, and fantasy creatures. Tell the stories of the crazy adventures they go on in your very own comic book! You’ll work with experienced artists and comic book writers. By the end of the camp, each student will have their own original cover and two-page comic book!Level of Instruction: All levels
Skills Learned: Learn to draw faces with expression, full-body action poses, comic cover layouts, and much more! Build cool characters and learn how to add speech and thought bubbles to your panels. Grow your portfolio as a comic artist with drawing and writing activities designed to help you create your original characters and story!
Supplies Needed: Water bottle and nut-free snack
Students should bring a nut-free snack and water bottle each day.
If your child is enrolled for both a morning activity (9:00am-12:00pm) and an afternoon activity (1:00pm-4:00pm) during the same week they are eligible to stay for Lunch Bunch (free supervised lunch hour from 12:00pm-1:00pm).
