About This Activity
Description
Hosted by POWLAX, this weekly lacrosse league is geared for beginner to intermediate level lacrosse players. POWLAX instructors will start each session by teaching lacrosse skills and fundamentals through individual and team drills. Participants will then be divided up to play a game. Players will be divided into new teams at every session and those teams will play against each other.
Level of Instruction: Beginner to Intermediate. This will provide an introduction to the game of Box lacrosse as well as provide continued skill development to players who may already be familiar with the game.
Skills/Fundamentals Learned:
- Introduce and reinforce offensive and defensive lacrosse fundamentals through individual drills.
- Teach live play concepts through short competition drills.
- Allow players to learn on the fly by playing 45 minute games.
Instructor: Camp staff is led by POWLAX Founder Patrick Chapla, whose lacrosse coaching instructions videos are used by youth, high school, and collegiate coaches around the country. Check them out at www.powlax.com. Patrick is the former head coach at Grandview High School and current Cherokee Trail Offensive Coordinator, combining for 14 years of high school and youth coaching experience.
