Archery is a great class for everyone to enjoy. Participants will learn about range safety, proper archery shooting techniques and target practice in a fun and safe environment.
Level of Instruction: The class is designed for newcomers to the sport as well as experienced archers.
Skills/Fundamentals Learned: The key to archery is consistency. In archery courses, students will learn the nine steps to the 10-ring target at their own level of learning:
- Stance
- Nock (bow placement)
- Set (finger and hand placement)
- Pre-draw
- Draw
- Anchor
- Aim
- Release
- Follow through

Contractor/Instructor: Archery classes are taught by Mike Holzer. Coach Mike is a certified Level 4 Archery instructor by USA Archery, specializing in Olympic Recurve and Barebow. He has a proven track record with past students going on to become Local, Regional, State and National Champions.
- Equipment Needed: Archery classes use recurve bows ranging from 15 to 20 pound draw weight. All equipment is provided, however students may bring their own upon inspection by the instructor. Wear athletic clothes, athletic shoes and bring water. Clothing should not be loose, for safety purposes.
- Bring personal hand sanitizer and a sweat towel.
- Bring your own full water bottle and refrain from using the drinking fountains. Bottle fillers are not be available.
