About This Activity
Description
This youth learn-to-skate program is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of skating. This is for rollerblading or skating on quad skates. This program aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for beginners to be introduced and develop their skating skills while gaining confidence on their skates.Groups will be divided into multiple levels or stages if needed. Catering to different age groups and skill levels.
Equipment and Safety: Participants are required to bring their own skates and safety equipment, helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads, and wrist guards or hockey gloves.
Skill Progression: The program follows a progressive curriculum that introduces participants to basic skating techniques and gradually advances their skills. The curriculum includes lessons on balance, posture, proper footwork, gliding, stopping, and turning.
Fun Activities and Games: To keep the program engaging and enjoyable, the youth learn-to-skate programs will incorporate fun activities, games, and challenges that reinforce skating skills in a playful and interactive manner.
Safety and First Aid: Safety is paramount in a youth learn-to-skate program. Instructors emphasize proper safety techniques, including falling safely, avoiding collisions, and respecting others on the rink, trail or skatepark.
Level of Instruction: Beginners, no skating experience required.
