Description
Shorin-Karate: Traditional Okinawan Karate Introduction to a Traditional Okinawan Style Shorin Rye Karate. Classes are geared to the beginner with focus on discipline, elementary karate skills (blocks, punches, kicks, stances), history, philosophy, flexibly, muscular and cardiovascular development and basic Japanese language. Three of the first 6 introduction Katas or Forms will be taught as well as part of our syllabus representative of our initial self-defense techniques within our syllabus. This gives the student a good foundation for advancement and further study of more complex movements as introduced in our intermediate and advanced classes. Our beginning classes are offered, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4PM to 5PM. Your Karate uniform (GI) is included with your first monthly class payment and a separate $50 annual registration fee/family payable to instructor Ted Jacobson. No class on Monday, October 13.
