Get ready for an evening full of creativity, energy, and hands-on fun at the 4th Annual Artists-in-Training Showcase on Friday, May 30 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Rochester Museum and Science Center (657 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607).This event celebrates the incredible imagination and effort of children in our YMCA Before & After School Programs. Throughout the year, our students have been exploring art and creating pieces that reflect their creativity and personality. This showcase is your chance to walk through that journey and experience their work firsthand. From bold, colorful individual pieces to collaborative group projects, every display tells a story.
But this is more than just an art show.
Families will have full access to the Rochester Museum and Science Center for the evening, including exhibits like the Electricity Theater, turning this into a full experience rather than just a visit. Whether you’re exploring interactive exhibits, catching a live demonstration, or simply enjoying the space together, there is something for everyone to engage with throughout the night.
In addition to the student gallery, families can jump into the action with a hands-on craft area, giving both kids and adults the chance to create something of their own during the event. It’s a space to slow down, get a little messy, and be part of the creativity rather than just viewing it.
We will also be hosting raffle baskets featuring a variety of themed packages and items designed for the whole family. From fun experiences to high-value items, some baskets are valued at up to $500, making this an exciting opportunity to take home something special while supporting a great cause.
All proceeds from the event support the YMCA of Greater Rochester’s Annual Campaign, helping ensure that programs like BASP remain accessible to families across our community. Through this work, the YMCA is able to provide Experience Scholarships and expand opportunities that support our mission.
Tickets are $20 and include admission for up to six family members, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a full evening of art, exploration, and family time all in one place.
