In this club, participants will learn the art of Japanese paper folding, building fundamental skills in understanding the variety of folds and gradually attempting projects with increased difficulty and complexity. These projects include and are not limited to a garland of cranes, tiny gift boxes, a crown of flowers, various animals and an origami mobile. Origami encourages us to slow down, pause and take our time to focus, making clean folds and sharply lined edges, to make a 3-D creation by using what we already have: our hands and our minds, connecting to paper. We will practice the art of beginning again and finishing our tasks in an encouraging, supportive and relaxed environment. Ji Sun studied fine art in college and has continued to explore different artistic mediums for over 20 years. She has over 10 years of teaching experience and enjoys combining elements of mindfulness and humor when engaging with students while making art. (Please note: There are no sessions on Oct 18, Nov 1 & Nov 29.)
