Phoenix Plays is excited to be partnering with the Phoenix Suns/ Jr. Suns Youth Basketball Program to offer you the best youth basketball league possible. The league will run for 8 weeks with one 45 minutes to hour practice a week, and one game on Saturdays. All practices and games will be held at Pecos Community Center. As part of the Phoenix Plays/ Jr. Suns League, your child will receive an official Jr. Suns game jersey, a Jr. Suns swag item, a player handbook, and one game voucher good for a Suns/Mercury home game at the Footprint Center of his/her choosing and possible additional promotional opportunities.
PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE A SKILLS ASSESSMENT ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 AT 7:00 PM.
When enrolling your child please indicate in the notes section which day of the week (Monday-Thursday) and time (5:00 pm-7:00 pm) you would prefer to practice, or if there are any days you cannot attend. We cannot guarantee practice choices, but we will do our best to accommodate your availability.
Practice: Participants will be assigned to a team. Practice days and times are determined by the volunteer coach's availability however, you can let us know what days work best in your schedule when you register. Parents/guardians can expect an email and/or phone call from a league coordinator by Friday, September 5, for team assignment and practice schedule. All practice will be held at the Pecos Community Center starting the week of September 8, 2025.
Games: Games begin on Saturday, September 20 and conclude on November 15. All games be held at the Pecos Community Center (17010 South 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85048). Please note there will NOT be a game on Saturday, October 18 due to a divisional event. IF we have 10 participants registered, we will be able to run an intermural league. More information will come.
Requests: Although we do our best to accommodate most special requests, we cannot guarantee your requests will be satisfied. Please know your child is registering for the Jr. Suns Youth Basketball Legue and not a specific team or coach.
Coaching is a great way to give back to our leagues and your community. Coaches will receive a Jr. Suns clipboard, coaching handbook, coach shirt, and one game voucher good for a regular season Suns/Mercury home game at the Footprint Center of his/her choosing, and possible additional promotional opportunities.
