GCU Club Spikeball is a brand-new club this year that allows students to compete against skilled athletes from other colleges and universities. Alongside competition and performance, club sports places an emphasis on student initiative and team management, allowing participants to shape their own experience. GCU participates in the Southwest Region which competes against schools such as Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UCLA, San Diego State, California Baptist University, University of California-Santa Barbara, University of California-Irvine, Arizona State University, Azusa Pacific and many more. Our team will practice multiple times per week which involves competing, lifting in the weight room and watching film from other athletes. This will allow players to obtain new skills and improve upon old ones while helping teammates achieve success to become a better unit. GCU competes in three big tournaments throughout the season, fall regionals, spring regionals and nationals. Our mission here at Grand Canyon University is to build community by bringing people together through competition and fun. This is our first year as an official club, so we are constantly looking to expand our team and create more opportunities for student involvement. These are exciting times and we look forward to the development of the program!
