Have fun making your own sandpaper pictograph using design inspiration from the Ancestral Sonoran Desert People, known to archaeologists as the Hohokam. Learn about these rare works of art as you create your very own designs on sandpaper.

Cost: $2 per student/craft

Each Craft Kit order includes the materials for the craft, designs commonly found on pottery and petroglyphs, and a PowerPoint set of step-by-step instructions. There is no in-person instruction for this activity. This is a take-home craft.

Kits to be picked up at S’edav Va’aki Museum (formerly Pueblo Grande Museum & Archaeological Park) located at 4619 E. Washington Street Phoenix, AZ 85034. Call 602-495-0901 for appointment.

Please allow 2 weeks for museum staff to prepare your craft.
