Description
Swim team is being reinstated at six locations. It is a five-week program designed to enhance and improve swimming strokes for children ages 7 to 17 years old. Children will practice and compete by age groups in recreational meets with other City of Phoenix swim teams.
Practices include one hour of instruction four days per week, with swim meets on Saturday mornings at 7:00am at various pools.
We will be requiring a Pre-Test for all Swim Team participants prior to the first day of swim team.
The equivalent to completion of Green Star for Swim School in terms of skill level for all our participants is what is required to remain on swim team.
Green Star Benchmark 5: Can perform front stroke with 1,2,3 breathing pattern with face in the water, over arm action and strong flutter kick.
All participants will be tested on the following:
10 and Under- 25 meters free style, 25 meters backstroke, 40 second tread.
11 and Up- 50 meters free style, 50 meters backstroke, 40 second tread.
