Ages 5-8
Indiana Jones meets Dora the Explorer in this hands-on history adventure designed just for curious and active young explorers.
In History Detectives: Maps, Buildings & Mysteries, participants become official History Detectives as they explore the Wicoff House Museum and nearby buildings through guided walks, map-making, and playful investigations. Each week, kids learn how to read simple maps, use real compasses, observe architectural features, and uncover clues hidden throughout their surroundings.
Participants discover how buildings tell stories, how people found their way before GPS, and how historians and archaeologists explore the past using tools, observation, and curiosity. Along the way, kids search for hidden artifacts, solve mysteries, and create their own maps showing how to navigate between important local landmarks.
Each child will receive a History Detectives t-shirt, a field notebook, and history detective tools to use throughout the program, making every session feel like a real adventure. Designed for ages 5–8, this program blends movement, imagination, and local history into an unforgettable experience that turns kids into confident explorers of their own town.
Program Fee: $50.00Non-Residents beginning March 16
