About This Activity
Description
Ages 8-11
The Junior Archivists program offers a dynamic and educationalexperience at the museum. Participants explore the museum collections and archives, engaging in fun hands-on activities to learn about researching and interpreting historical topics. The Junior Archivists will create their own museum exhibits and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of local history. This program will allow participants to foster their creativity and curiosity while learning about history, museums and preservation. Each member receives a Junior Archivists t-shirt, binder and special membership card.
During this session, the Junior Archivists will take a bus trip from the museum on two Saturdays to visit other museums in Middlesex County. They will learn about how other museums curate exhibits and interpret history. They will also collaborate with these museums to create a multi-organizational exhibit at the Wicoff House. At the end of this session, the Junior Archivists will host a new temporary exhibit and presentation at the Wicoff House for the community.
