About This Activity
Description
Ages 13-15In this intermediate program, the players will hone their volleyball fundamentals such hitting, passing, serving and setting skills. The players will be taught to: Hitting approach (3 and 4 steps); Service (overhead, jump); Receiving and Pass: "read" the ball, body and arm platform positions; Blocking and transition out of net. Players will get involved in game-like situations to learn or perfect their defense/ attacking/blocking. The last sessions, the players will play games in a mock tournament.
*The first class will be a “try-out” to assess volleyball skills*
Skill level: Intermediate. Players must have some experience, able to serve the ball over the net, know rotations, pass overhead and forearm passing.
Preferred Equipment: Volleyball shoes, knee pads
Optional Equipment: Arm sleeves, water bottle
