This developmental sports academy is specifically for kids of all ages who have high-functioning autism or other similar neurodiversity conditions, who find that mainstream sports teams are either too advanced or not a good fit socially. This program utilizes a variety of sports from soccer, tee ball, kickball and more, all encouraging teamwork, developing peer interaction, and encouraging physical activity. All sports focus on sensory-appropriateness, age, skill-level, and inclusions so that no child feels behind or left out. Our inclusive environment is based on the suitability of each child- not athletic ability or social limitations. Kids will learn basic sportsmanship skills, including the appropriate behavior for winning and losing, encouraging your teammates, and how to bounce back from failure.
Impact18 will meet at the grassy field near the Frio-Lay Baseball field.
