About This Activity
Inspired by contemporary Broadway favorites. Broadway meets Paris in this stylish performance week where students train in singing, acting, and dance while preparing a cabaret-style performance. Morning: Performance Skills Training Students develop vocal technique, acting skills, and musical theatre movement inspired by contemporary Broadway repertoire. Afternoon: Showcase Rehearsal Lab Participants integrate their skills while rehearsing musical theatre selections and preparing for an informal end-of-week performance. Thursday Cabaret Café Showcase – Last 30 minutes of class Families enjoy a French-inspired dessert café while students perform curated musical theatre selections. Friday Summer Send-Off Celebration Awards, theatre games, and a cast party to celebrate the final week of summer camp. MORE INFO Camp location: Genesis Studios — 3033 W. Parker Rd, Suite 204, Plano TX These camps take place at Genesis Studios, our training space across the street from Genesis Children’s Theatre. Students may enroll in either the morning session, afternoon session, or the full-day option. Throughout the week, students will rehearse material that will be shared during our Thursday Showcase Performance, held at Genesis Studios. This informal showcase celebrates the performers’ work from the week and will last approximately 15 minutes. Some light memorization or practicing at home may be encouraged during the week to help students feel confident for the showcase. For families unable to attend the showcase in person, a video recording will be made available. Fridays are included in tuition but are optional. Friday is designed as a fun celebration day featuring theatre games, creative activities, and cast celebrations. Please let us know if your student plans to attend Friday so we can plan accordingly. Students staying for both the morning and afternoon sessions should bring a sack lunch each day.
