About This Activity
SYNOPSIS: Follow Junie B. Jones as she enters first grade. She must deal with a new class, making new friends, riding the bus, bringing her lunch, and needing glasses. AUDITIONS: Material: Full Audition Packets will be posted on your Google Classroom. Students will sing a selection from the show and should be ready to perform sides at the audition. Bring your headshot and resume, and make sure your audition form has been submitted on your Google Classroom. Dates: Auditions will be Tuesday, January 9th from 5 PM-8 PM. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be every Tuesday 5:00-8:00 PM starting on January 9th. Students will have OFF Tuesday, February 20th (PISD School Holiday), and Tuesday, March 12th (PISD Spring Break). Students are required to submit their conflicts ahead of time, and a maximum of 3 conflicts will be accepted. All tech week rehearsals and each performance is mandatory. SET BUILD: *Sunday, May 12th, 5 PM-8 PM due to level 3 play matinee. All students and one parent per actor are required to attend. TECH WEEK: Monday, May 13th through Thursday, May 16th from 5:00-8:00 PM. All students are required to attend each day. PERFORMANCES: FRIDAY: May 17th @ 7pm SATURDAY: May 18th @ 7pm SUNDAY: May 19th @ 3pm FRIDAY: May 24th @ 7pm SATURDAY: May 25th @ 2pm & 7pm SUNDAY: May 26th @ 3pm (Love notes @ 12:30pm) | Strike immediately following the show ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Costumes are provided by Genesis. Supplemental items & black or brown shoes from your wardrobe. Students are required to have no more than 3 conflicts. If a student has excessive conflicts, they may not be able to participate in the production. Please send a snack, a personal water bottle, and pencil each day to rehearsal. Please help your student at home to memorize their lines. Tickets will be available for purchase online, so buy early!
