"Minecraft is a block-building sandbox game with no set rules, where you can build anything you can possibly imagine! This is a coding camp. Campers will learn how to make modifications and use Redstone to expand their creative abilities and have lots of FUN! We strongly believe in learning with real code- young coders are often taught pseudo-code, which they often master very quickly. The problem is though that it doesn’t prepare them enough for the jump to a real programming language and text-based code, so a lot of coders stop there. We will use the sand box game of Minecraft to transition from drag and drop to typing real Java code. The mysteries of real code is unraveled here for kids! *All campers are required to have a ""Desktop: Java Edition"" Minecraft™ account for this class. An XBox/iOS/PlayStation account will NOT work! You can purchase a desktop version of Minecraft™ ($26.95) at https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/. Campers must bring their desktop account login when they come to camp. Registration closes at 11:59pm Friday before this camp begins. For late registrations, please email us at hello@clubscikidzdallas.com. Late registration fee of $20 will apply."
