Director: Loree Beth Westbrooks Level: III (7th-8th Graders) SYNOPSIS: 42nd Street is a glittering, high-energy musical that tells the story of Peggy Sawyer, a small-town girl with big Broadway dreams. When she gets her big break in a new show, she must prove she has what it takes to be a star. Filled with iconic tap numbers, catchy songs like “Lullaby of Broadway” and “We’re in the Money,” and a behind-the-scenes look at the world of showbiz, 42nd Street is a celebration of hard work, talent, and the magic of musical theatre! Dates: Audition Workshop Thursday October 2nd 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM Auditions: Saturday, October 4th from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM REHEARSALS: Rehearsals: starting October 9th Thursdays: 5:30 PM-8:00 PM ADDITIONAL REHEARSALS: Saturday, October 25th 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Saturday, November 1st 10:00 AM-1 :00 PM Saturday, November 8th 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM SET BUILD/LOAD IN: Sunday, November 16th, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Each student & 1 parent are required to attend and stay the entire time. TECH WEEK: Monday-Thursday, December 1st-December 4th from 5-8 pm. No conflicts are permitted during tech week. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Costumes are provided by Genesis. Supplemental items & shoes from your wardrobe. Students are required to be present at all rehearsals and shows. Please do not schedule any appointments or events for your student during this rehearsal period. Please send a snack, a personal water bottle, and pencil each day to rehearsal. Please help your student at home to memorize their lines. Tickets will be available for purchase online, so buy early!
