SYNOPSIS: Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town is a classic play that explores the simple joys and profound sorrows of life in a small American town. Narrated by the “Stage Manager”, we follow young lovers George and Emily as they grow up, fall in love, and confront the inevitability of death. With humor, wit, and exceptionally powerful storytelling, this timeless tale will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on the preciousness of every moment. AUDITIONS: Monday, March 24 from 5:30PM-8:30PM Material: Full Audition Information will be posted on your Google Classroom. Students will perform a monologue from the show and should be ready to perform sides at the audition. Submit your audition form, headshot, and resume on your Google Classroom. REHEARSALS: Every Wednesday, 5:30 pm-9:00 pm, March 26-April 16. Additional Rehearsals: Thursday, April 17th; Saturday, April 19th **Potential to add small group rehearsals on Fridays (except for 4/18) if needed.** SET BUILD Wednesday, April 16th from 5:30 pm-9 pm. This will also be used for rehearsal time. All students and one parent per actor are required to attend. TECH WEEK: Monday-Thursday, April 21st-24th, 5:30 PM-9 PM PERFORMANCES FRIDAY: April 25th @ 7 pm SATURDAY: April 26th @ 2 pm & 7 pm SUNDAY: April 27th @ 3pm (Love Notes @ 12:30p) | Strike after the Sunday show ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Genesis provides costumes—supplemental items & shoes from your wardrobe. Students are required to be present at all rehearsals and shows. Please do not schedule any appointments or events for your student during this rehearsal period. Please send a snack, a personal water bottle, and a pencil each day to rehearsal. Please help your student at home to memorize their lines. Tickets will be available for purchase online.
