About This Activity
The MS Jazz Workshop is a wonderful “first step” into the world of Jazz for any young musician! This workshop will introduce students to the basic repertoire performed in the High School Jazz Band including Big Band standards ‘Girl from Ipanema’, ‘In the Mood’, ‘Satin Doll’, and ‘PA-65000’. Students will receive a basic introduction into instrumental improvisation, exploring chord changes and how to decipher them as well as learn how to search, listen to, and compare and contrast Jazz performances through the triangulation technique. (Middle school student must have completed at least two years of Band) Please note our 50% cancellation fee
