Ignite your passion for music in this five-day DJ camp designed for ages 11–14. Guided by Portland-based DJ Ambush, this hands-on program introduces campers to the creative and technical skills behind DJing: from foundational concepts to performance-ready techniques in a supportive, collaborative environment. Throughout the week, campers will gain hands-on experience with professional DJ equipment, learning how mixers, controllers, and software work together. They’ll explore music fundamentals, including rhythm, tempo, and song structure to better understand how to build engaging playlists and mixes. Working individually and in small groups, campers will develop beat matching, mixing, and transition techniques while practicing creative problem-solving and teamwork. They’ll learn how DJs shape mood and tell a story through sound as they curate their own party-ready sets. The camp concludes with a celebratory DJ showcase, where campers share their mixes with friends and family, highlighting their creativity, confidence, and newly developed DJ skills. This camp is ideal for music-loving middle schoolers eager to explore performance, collaboration, and the art of mixing music.
