Play hard, pray hard. Your sons will have a blast this summer enjoying the finer things in life, the Faith and sports. Living their wildest summer vacation dreams, the boys will play sports while growing in appreciation and love of the Catholic Church. This camp is primarily recreational and low-intensity, though it will be a semi-competitive environment. This camp is open to all sports (and God) lovers, regardless of skill level. On day one, each of the boys will be assigned to a team. These teams will compete together throughout the week, growing in camaraderie and teamwork. Everyday, three different sports will be played. Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Flag Football, and Street Hockey will each be played multiple times throughout the week. A few specialized games will be thrown in to mix things up, capture the flag, wall ball, and so on (camper requests will be thoughtfully considered). In between each of the sports, a presentation will be given on a saint, prayer/devotion, or liturgical aspect of the Faith. Additionally, some basic strategy and skill instruction will be provided. What to bring: Water bottle, hardy snack, sunscreen, baseball glove, athletic shoes (tennis shoes are all you’ll need, but cleats are allowed too). All necessary equipment will be proved, but the boys are welcome and encouraged to bring any of their own relevant sports equipment that they would like to use. Commissioner: Mr. Olszewski has coached high school basketball and soccer and assisted at many summer basketball camps at Seton Highschool in Manassas, VA. A varsity athlete in basketball, soccer, and lacrosse, he continues to play competitive basketball and hockey.
