About This Activity
Ready to make music with just four strings and a whole lot of fun? Wake Me Up Before Uke Go-Go is an energetic ukulele workshop designed to get students playing real songs fast. Whether you’re picking up a ukulele for the very first time or want to tighten up your basic chord skills, this camp is your musical jumpstart. Campers will learn essential beginner ukulele chords and strumming patterns through a variety of familiar, kid-friendly songs. Each day focuses on building confidence, coordination, and musical fluency. We’ll break down new concepts, learn how to practice independently, play together as a group, and celebrate progress along the way, even when mistakes happen. By the end of the workshop, students will be able to strum along with multiple songs, switch chords more smoothly, and feel confident making music independently or with friends. A 15-minute presentation will be held for families on the final day of class. *Each student will be provided with a school-owned ukulele to use during the workshop.
