About This Activity
"We will learn and practice the formation of individual cursive letters - both lower-case and capitals (upper-case). Connecting letter to letter will begin on the first day to include short words using letters that are formed similarly. We’ll be learning the Zane-Bloser style of cursive handwriting. The letters slant to the right with the tail of each letter connecting to the tail of the next letter. It also has capital letters that are simplified. Students will also practice reading cursive. Parents: This is the updated style of the one that many of you grew up on in grade school. Practicing cursive tends to improve print and overall fine motor skills as well as coordination. **Daily practice/homework of about 5 minutes will be required to help ensure adequate progress.** " Instructor: Audra Eckes Audra grew up on Long Island. After earning an MS in Deaf Education, she worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing in NYC, Long Island, and Maryland. She moved to NC in 2007 for her career but wound up becoming a bonus mom to a child who eventually needed to be homeschooled. So, in 2014, a new “teaching”/learning adventure began. Besides learning and teaching, Audra’s other interests include reading, writing, photography, dog rescue, and spending time with her family.
