About This Activity
Description
Have you ever thought about where your food comes from? Whether you are a vegetarian or an omnivore, your food depends on soil, microorganisms, and the growers that produce food plants and animals. Experiment with soils and irrigation, investigate insects, try your hand at hydroponic farming, and cook using the sun’s energy. Includes a great field trip and lunch each day!Note: We will be preparing lunches with the campers that may include gluten, eggs, meat, dairy and other items. Please contact us for further information.
Dinner from Dirt is a three-day mini-camp at Blue Jay Point County Park for children ages 9-12. All participants should wear play clothes, closed-toe shoes (like sneakers or day hikers) and bring weather appropriate outerwear to each camp session. Prepare for each camp day by bringing a filled water bottle, a simple snack, applying your favorite sunscreen and bug spray.
Note: We will be preparing lunches with the campers that may include gluten, eggs, meat, dairy and other items. Please contact us for further information.
