We will review handshapes, letters/fingerspelling, numbers, and basic vocabulary, as well as basic grammar, including facial expressions. We will focus on expanding vocabulary, describing people, objects, and experiences, as well as asking and answering questions. We will also learn about/review the history of ASL and Deaf culture. Students must have taken a previous ASL course. If there are doubts or questions concerning placement, please email Stacy. Instructor: Audra Eckes Audra grew up on Long Island. After earning an MS in Deaf Education, she worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing in NYC, Long Island, and Maryland. She moved to NC in 2007 for her career but wound up becoming a bonus mom to a child who eventually needed to be homeschooled. So, in 2014, a new “teaching”/learning adventure began. Besides learning, Audra’s other interests include reading, writing, photography, dog rescue, and spending time with her grandson.
