About This Activity

"In this course, students will embark on a journey of exploration and discovery as they delve into the richness of the Spanish-speaking world. Through engaging activities, immersive experiences, and interactive learning resources, students will begin building a foundation in Spanish language skills while gaining insights into the diverse cultures, traditions, and customs of Spanish-speaking countries. In this two-part course, students will grow a substantial vocabulary, learn early grammar, and begin building sentences. This linguistic foundation will be accompanied by games, activities, role-playing, short stories, music, and videos, serving to solidify the linguistic essentials. ¡Vamonos! This class has an optional Wednesday afternoon immersion game and activity meeting from 3-4:00pm, designed to solidify what is learned in class and provide additional opportunities to speak and listen to the Spanish language. Instructor: Angela Ruth Angela grew up in and out of Latin America, and has spent much of her life volunteering to help those in need. Angela began working in orphanages at a young age and pursued her work in service throughout and upon graduation from the College of William and Mary. Angela spent her early career working for the U.S. government, devotedly supporting U.S. military servicemen and women in Baghdad, Iraq, and later through non-profit work at the Wounded Warrior Project. Angela began teaching approximately ten years ago, managing a library ESL program near the Texas-Mexico border, and has pushed that passion to teach her own three children and others through homeschooling. Angela is a seasoned traveler, language lover, and passionate home cook. She looks forward to sharing her passions and working with your children!
