About This Activity

It's alive! Frankenstein is more than a novel; it's become part of our culture, something more like a shard mythology. In this class, we'll examine everything about Victor Frankenstein and the monster he created, from Mary Shelley's seminal masterwork to the Universal Horror classic and (pseudo)science of galvanism. Along the way, we'll discover the origins of science fiction, discuss some of the meanings of this incredibly rich text, and question why Frankenstein has become such an enduring part of our cultural zeitgeist. Instructor: Colton Flick Colton Flick is a writer, podcaster, and graphic designer with a passion for teaching kids to both make and critically analyze the kinds of media they love.
