Academically, I graduated from Penn State with a BS in Health Planning (way!) back in 1985. I have always enjoyed my math courses … (except calculus!). After substitute teaching in Wake County Schools, I was recognized for greatly assisting students who struggled with math. A counselor suggested that I try tutoring…and I have made a fulfilling a successful business of it, since then. Additionally, I tested for, and earned, a praxis-certification for this specialty. My specialty is Middle School Math, particularly because it is so useful in everyday life. The concepts are very practical. I especially enjoy that moment when your student ‘gets it’! That click accompanied with a big smile, is one of the joys from teaching teen and preteen kids about math. "
