About This Activity
Astronomy - Upper Middle/Lower High School Ages 13-15 (Grades 8-10) NOTE: This class will meet for 30 weeks. It can be used on high school transcripts. This hands-on course will take students beyond the sun and back again. We will study the universe, solar system, and our own home: Earth. We will delve into the Doppler effect, Newton’s laws, the effect of the moon, eclipses, Sun and so much more! There are weekly assignments to be completed prior to our classroom time and additional work for those students who wish to take this as a transcript-worthy course. Instructor: Renee Charbonneau Renee is a former elementary school teacher who specialized in grades 2-8 and special needs. After many years as a teacher, she decided to homeschool her two children, now in 8th and 10th grade. Renee obsesses over all things Harry Potter, science, and history. She can't wait to ignite students' passion for learning!
