Instructor: Roni Carrington (SAS) "Roni is a dedicated community leader and artist with over twelve years of experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Cultural Arts Director for the Floyd Family Center For Social Equity In Raleigh, North Carolina, Roni creates culturally relevant events and programming, hosts teach-ins, conferences, and fundraisers, and coordinates mutual aid programs to support the community. Roni's accomplishments include organizing fundraising Spoken Word events, hosting international virtual conferences, and facilitating town halls to foster dialogue between law enforcement and the community. She has also initiated a community food pantry with mutual aid services. Roni's dedication to youth enrichment is evident in her former role as Vice-President and Program Coordination at The Redmond-Willoughby Foundation, where she coordinated medical assistance and disaster assistance programs, delivered essential services, and mentored youth in life skills and literacy. Roni Carrington's multifaceted leadership extends to her involvement in various cultural and professional organizations, including NARO, Sigma Alpha Iota Alumnae Association, N'Cobra, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF-US), the National Black Caucus of the Green Party, the Southern Anti-Racism Network, and Black Feminist Future.
