About This Activity

This is a year-long class. The teacher is accepting students mid-year at a pro-rated rate. Honors Biology is a course designed to meet the needs of the honors-level student. It is more in-depth and faster-paced than College Preparatory Biology as there is a greater emphasis on critical thinking skills, mathematical analysis, and independent learning in this particular course. The overall scope of the Honors Biology curriculum is to further develop an awareness of the order and the sensitive balance, which regulates the lives of all living organisms, and learn to question, find information, make inferences, solve problems, and communicate their ideas to one another. This course is a prerequisite for more advanced sciences and will lay a solid foundation for students to carry with them into their following science courses. This course is heavy engineering and lab based. Students will complete the required labs to help them take their AP Biology exam. While this is not a certified AP Biology course it will help your student gather the knowledge needed for the AP exam. Through hard work and study. All classes are engineering based so students will gain knowledge through the month for a larger project they will present to class at the end of each unit. This class will have many dissections so students must be prepared to participate in these on some level All of Ms. Beach’s classes will provide all needed skills to earn transcript credit with grading of all homework, testing and projects. At the end of the program you will have a printable syllabus and description of all that was learned in that year. This is a graded class unless instructed otherwise. There will be homework to be completed weekly Instructor: Rachel Beach
