"High School History Part 1 - Ancients Though Modern Part 1 Ages 14-17 (Grades 9-12) (Last year’s course was Part 2. This year’s Part 1 is all different material.) NOTE: This class will meet for 30 weeks. It can be used on high school transcripts. Each year of this high school transcript-worthy course will touch upon topics from the ancients, middle ages, early modern and modern world. Your student will gain a world history experience through an immersive, hands-on experience. Because this is a transcript-worthy course, students will be required to complete a significant amount of course work outside the classroom. This work will include projects, writing, reading, as well as watching assigned videos. Some Topics To Be Covered This Year: Ancient: Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greeks and Romans Middle Ages: Africa, South America and Colonization of “The New World” Early Modern: Civil War Modern: Roaring 20s and the Great Depression, WW2, Civil Rights Movement, Iraq and 9/11" Instructor: Renee Charboneau Renee is a former elementary school teacher who specialized in grades 2-8 and special needs. After many years as a teacher, she decided to homeschool her two children, now in 8th and 10th grade. Renee obsesses over all things Harry Potter, science, and history.
