About This Activity

We will learn what statistics means, when it is used, the most important terms used in describing numbers and statistics (such as standard deviation, mean, mode) and how to calculate them. We will touch on a few graphical representations of statistical information, such as stem plots and histograms. Instructor: Shir Shoham "I was born and raised in Israel, where I finished M.Sc in Zoology and trained as a high school science teacher. I have been tutoring math since I was 12, which is probably what sparked my interest in teaching. Since graduating from teacher training I have served as a middle school class teacher, elementary school arts and crafts teacher, middle school science teacher, high school science teacher and high school math teacher in many different school environments, including Israeli public schools, Waldorf schools and one prep school. My 3 children spent most of their years in Waldorf schools and this year started home-schooling."
