From sponges to mammals, during the Animal Kingdom camp, students will gain an appreciation of the different animal phyla. We will start with the least complex and increase in complexity as the week progresses. With an emphasis on vertebrates, we will end the week with mammals. Participants will learn by doing and each day will include at least two of the following: Art (e.g. sponge painting, fish prints) Literacy (e.g. reading/creating books) Movement (e.g. activities from Project Wild) Connection to Humans (e.g. honey tasting, biomimicry) We will take a snack break midmorning. Follow up activities will be suggested for home use, and a list of suppliers will be provided at the end of the week, a great source for science-based gifts.
