About This Activity
We have all come across this fun series by Scholastic! We take a lot of things for granted, including modern inventions like the Internet, and natural phenomena like gravity, bacteria—even dirt! In the “You Wouldn't Want to Live Without” course we will explore facts about history, society, and science and realize how great life is with all the things we are surrounded by:) This course is a deep dive into understanding the functions of the things that surround us and what life would be reduced to in the absence of such key elements. Note: Apart from history, science, and other disciplines, an intended backdrop of the course is gratitude:) Instructor: Nadia Sahar I am a homeschooling mom of two awesome kids (10 and 6). I have a Masters in Teaching (MAT in Elementary Grades) from NC State and have a passion for teaching and learning! Since I have an undergrad in International Affairs, I love bringing the global perspective to all my courses! In addition to teaching, I observed and evaluated teachers as a part of a state-wide study by NC State which entirely changed my outlook on the process. I love learning about various cultures and languages! I speak 3.5 more languages including Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and some Arabic. This interest took me back to school last year and I got licensed as an ESL instructor. My family and I love traveling and have traveled to a ton of states from the east to the west coast and more than a dozen countries from Spain, and Morocco to Malaysia in the far east Asia. It's been on my list to explore this unique set of courses with my kids. I am so excited and grateful to have an opportunity to share it with more!
